tokidoki x Asahi Limited Edition T-shirts

For the very first time, a leader in Japanese beer, Asahi, teams up with the alluring Japanese imagery of tokidoki for an enticing brew in the form of a limited edition t-shirt that’s sure to become a cult classic.

Drink & Fashion, tied together by a shared identity to Japan, tokidoki x Asahi introduces a truly special project aimed to visit several Italian cities in the near future. Fans will be given the chance to pick up these limited edition t-shirts by participating in online contests, visiting exclusive web sites and fashion blogs, and attending special events. The first tokidoki x Asahi party will take place in Milan shortly.

Simone Legno lends his creative mind and unique sensibility to a reinterpretation of the trendy and distinctive Asahi soul on a fresh tee that properly embodies the essence of the two brands.

Mi Japan for Japan, Milan

tokidoki is happy to announce Simone‘s participation at the second edition of Mi Japan, a festival dedicated to Japanese culture in Milan. This year’s edition is called “Mi Japan for Japan” and the main aim is to raise founds for the victims of tsunami, which took place in Northern Japan on March 11th.

Simone was more than happy to lend his creativity to design a special graphic in order to raise money for the Japan relief efforts. This design will be available on limited edition tee’s and will be sold for 20 Euros. 50% of the profits will be donated to the Red Cross Japan — so make sure to grab yours and support the cause!

“Sanrio For Smiles Exhibition” curated by Christian Gancitano and it has over 20 contemporary artists from around the world who are reinterpreting different Sanrio characters. All the proceeds from the sales will be donated to Japanese Red Cross Earthquake and Tsunami relief efforts!

Future Pass – From Asia to the World – la Biennale di Venezia

Future Pass – From Asia to the World
Collateral Event of the 54th International Art Exhibition – la Biennale di Venezia

The UNEEC Culture and Education Foundation of Taipei, the Today Art Museum of Beijing, the Wereldmuseum of Rotterdam and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, in collaboration with the Fondazione Claudio Buziol of Venice, present “Future Pass”, curated by Victoria Lu, Renzo di Renzo and Felix Schöber.

In its two venues, the exhibition brings together 106 artists and artistic groups from every corner of the world—some already well known, others up and coming. Among the protagonists of the exhibition are Wim Delvoye (Belgium); Xu Bing and Zhang Xiaogang (China); Dieter Jung and Rolf A. Kluenter (Germany); Thukral and Tagra and Janice Devali (India); Ay Tjoe and Indieguerillas (Miko and Santi) (Indonesia); Simone Legno, aka tokidoki (Italy); Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami and Yoshitomo Nara (Japan); Lee Dongi and SEO (Korea); Hooger T. Brugge (Netherlands); Shahzia Sikander (Pakistan); Grimanesa Amoros (Peru); Phunk Studio (Singapore); Yang Maolin (Taiwan); Natee Utarit (Thailand) and Gary Baseman (USA). Their works employ a variety of media—from painting, interactive installation, animation and video to sculpture, live performance and body art—, defying an any attempt to classify them.

Simone is ecstatic about his participation in this art show! Here is a sneak peek of his painting which will be on display from June 4 – November 6, 2011. Simone will also have a sculpture on display!
